Might I ask were it is you get your bug...stuff? @.@

And how do you manage to get the beetle shell in there without it breaking and crumbling all over the place?

-nudges person above me- Dude! Scarab has super jeweler powers or something.

wow.... now that is impressive
I get my beetle shells from Thailand, via ebay. These are Sternocera aequistignata, which have fairly thick shells and are (comparatively) easy to work with. Beetle shell is made of essentially the same stuff as fingernails, so it is surprisingly flexible and durable. The trick is cutting it into the right shapes before inlay and being mindful of the grain, like you would with wood. Even with my "super jeweler powers", though, I still lose a few pieces of shell each time due to cracking.
Huh...I've dried out a few beetles (dad won't allow me to keep live ones -.-) and they always seemed so delicate and brittle.

But now, to Ebay!

"Super Jeweler Powers" indeed...
...It's sad I can't argue, yet still I'm in awe to your works.
